What if I’m still early in the process?
You’re welcome here. Many attendees arrive with a rough draft, partial chapters, or even just an outline. We’ll help you clarify your message, map your next steps, and build a workable plan to move forward.
What if my book isn’t “Christian”?
That’s okay. Book Week is open to any genre or topic—business, memoir, fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, whatever. The “Christ-centered” part is the environment and standards of character for the authors and events we host. It's not a requirement that your book fit into a religious category. If you’re willing to work in a Christ-centered atmosphere, respect others according to the Bible, you will be right at home!
Do I have to share my manuscript?
No. Sharing is optional. You can keep your work as private as you wish, and still receive coaching and strategic help. The lessons you learn will be invaluable to you, even if you choose to keep your book completely private. Share as much or as little as you want. Most people provide a chapter, an outline, or at least a few pages with the coach as a basis for starting the journey. You’re always in control of what you disclose.
Note: The Publishing Guarantee only applies to those willing to share a significant portion of creative work, such as a collection of poems or illustrations, or a manuscript.
Is this a writing class or a publishing plan retreat?
It’s primarily a publishing plan retreat—with plenty of support for better writing and editing decisions. The focus is helping you leave with clarity, momentum, and a real strategy.
How private is the retreat?
Very. We keep the group small and the atmosphere calm. We value confidentiality, respectful communication, and a safe space for authors to create. However, we are close enough to civilization, if you feel the need to get away—or get a delivery!
